Assistant Inspector General for Investigations (AIGI)
Mr. Hollie is an Assistant Inspector General for Investigations (AIGI) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Inspector General (OIG), and Office of Investigations (OI). Mr. Hollie is a senior executive responsible for supervising the activities of over 600 sworn criminal investigators and other professional staff. He currently provides direct supervision for the Atlanta, Kansas City, Miami Offices and Protective Operations Branch, Investigations Branch and National Training Operations and Emergency Branch in Washington, D.C. Mr. Hollie is the senior executive subject matter expert within OI on Grant and Contract matters, Indian Health Service matters, issues involving the Unaccompanied Alien Children’s program, Emergency Support Function 13 (Disaster Support), International discretionary fraud prevention matters, and Human Trafficking.
Under his leadership, the Office of Investigations accomplishments in FY17 include over $4 billion in investigative receivables and 800 plus criminal actions.
In 2008, Mr. Hollie was promoted to Inspector with the Special Investigations Branch at OI Headquarters, Washington, DC, where he investigated numerous high profile and highly sensitive investigations referred to OI by the United States Congress. In 2009, Mr. Hollie was appointed as the National HEAT/Strike Force Coordinator, a cabinet level initiative, between the United States Attorney General and the HHS Secretary. In this capacity Mr. Hollie managed and provided oversight in the day to day function of all Strike Force activities nationwide. During this tenure, the Strike Force grew from four to seven locations and resulted in 87 convictions and over $53 million in fines, civil recoveries, and criminal restitution. Mr. Hollie oversaw and coordinated the largest Federal health care fraud operation in OIG history. Additionally, Mr. Hollie was instrumental in coordinating several high profile media events that showcased Strike Force efforts including special reports by Dan Rather, ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, and numerous Associated Press stories.
In 2010, Mr. Hollie was promoted to Special Agent in Charge of the Kansas City Region. In this capacity, his leadership and innovation were the creative force behind several regional projects and initiatives that include a medical identity theft project, a proactive data analysis project, a quarterly health care fraud trends report, and a regional media tour. Mr. Hollie has received numerous professional awards including the Secretary’s Award for Distinguished Service, the IG Exceptional Achievement Award, IG Award for Excellence in Securing the Future and the Inspector General Academy’s Williams H. Barton Award.
