Communications Specialist at the National Cancer Institute’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Development Center
Lisa Yeom is a communications specialist with years of experience in both traditional PR and digital communications. She currently works as Communications Specialist at the National Cancer Institute’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Development Center, overseeing internal and external communications activities. Activities that Lisa leads at the SBIR Development Center include: establishing communications strategies and plans; developing creative content for catering to specific stakeholder groups; producing pitch packages for media relations; and analyzing communications metrics. Prior to NCI SBIR, Lisa worked as a PR Specialist at Edelman with a client list ranging from leading multinational corporations to public organizations. At Edelman, she conducted integrated communications projects with both traditional and social media, led product and brand launches, coordinated media conferences, and established strategic communication plans. Lisa has a master’s degree in Communications, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University where she researched the policy implications of data-driven communications campaigns. She received a B.A. in International Relations with a focus on national security from Boston University.
