Chief Grants Management Officer for the National Library of Medicine
Samantha Tempchin is the Chief Grants Management Officer for the National Library of Medicine, where she oversees grant administration activities for NLM’s extramural portfolio of grants and cooperative agreements. Prior to joining NLM, she was an Assistant Grants Compliance Officer in the Division of Grants Compliance and Oversight, within the Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA), Office of Extramural Research (OER), NIH. At OPERA, she was responsible for assisting NIH staff and recipient grant administrators with Federal requirements and promoting compliance among the grants community. Previously, she was a Grants Management Specialist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, where she managed a diverse portfolio of grants and cooperative agreements, led training workshops for grant recipients, and conducted proactive administrative site visits for international grant recipients in Europe and Asia. Samantha began her NIH career in the Grants Management Branch of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English and Music from Tufts University and a Masters of Library Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park.
